Why does grey skies and rain depress some people, and yet others find it almost joyful?

I find it peaceful not necessarily joyful, I think people just say its depressing because for the longest time people associated being sad and depressing with dark skies. But like I said I find it peaceful, I think most people do, thats why most people say they sleep like a baby when it rains.

i don't know, but i find it kind of joyful. i just like how the lightning lightens up the skies... and how you can hear and feel the rain fall like in a shower, it's almost relaxing. and for some reason, i like the darker colours

I find that childhood can answer that question I know that I've had exceptionally great days whenever it was raining and so I like rainy days beacause something good happens just about every time.

i live in the tropics
everyday is damn hot clear blue boring beautifull sky,
300plus days a year
grey skies and drizzle or rain is a welcome relief from the heat and means a lot less work to irrigate the plants.
so hurray for grey skies

Good question..I have wondered that myself. It is storming here right now. Not a bad storm but thunder & rain. Which we really
need. I find it exilorating. I love to hear the thunder roll. I wouldn't
want it to go on & on tho. A mixture is good!

I love it when it rains. There is far more excitement and action in a rainstorm, and the temperature is so much better. I hate the heat and love the cold.
