Reboot and see if it comes back up. If not go to control panel, system devices and see if you can reinstall that way.

Second, right click on the bottom toolbar and go to properties. Then uncheck the box "hide inactive icons"

Finally, reboot in safe mode (hit f8 when first turning on computer) and if you have windows xp go to system tools and system restore to restore the computer back to the time when it was removed.

One of these methods should work.

probably. How lengthy has the gadget been plugged in? attempt rebooting. even as the computing gadget is loading you could take out the USBchronic. even as its finished reloading attempt putting it back in. See if it pops up. yet another be conscious, that appropriately get rid of is only a probability-free-look after. you do not unavoidably want to do it. I truly have taken flash drives and each and every thing else out without doing that, and that i have not had a project.

Go to add/remove programs and on the lefthand side is a list. Choose "windows components" and scroll down and look for "unplug or eject hardward" and make sure it is checked.

Good Luck

Reboot system

as long as you're not using the thumbdrive, or transferring any files to it, it should be alright to unplug it.

if you want it back see if this works.

right click on start and go to properties. then go to the taskbar tab. unclick hide inactive bars. press okay and see if you see it.

If you are worried you'll mess up the device do cntr/alt/delete and stop that function. I'd hesitate to reboot without shuting it off first.
