Well and truly. So many fans interviewed on news programmes have said how friendly and obliging the hosts have been. Even the riot police have been said to have been 'sensitive' to the feelings of supporters. Added to that, the fabled German efficiency has produced a really well-organised World Cup, played in great stadia and in a buoyant, vibrant atmosphere.
Their team have become everyone else's second team (apart from the German people of course!) They have played positive, dynamic football and have really entertained. I felt really sorry for their players, but I think the better team won on the night. Germany now have an excellent team spirit, and a nucleus of gifted youngsters who could be around for a decade or so. They will have their day.
I only wish I could have been there to sample some of it!

I agree, Germany has been a wonderful place to stage the world cup. There has been minimal fighting and they have made a real effort to integrate all of the fans from different countries so that everyone can have a great time.
They still have to play Portugal or France on Saturday though!

Germany should hold their heads high, as hosts they have been second to non and went out in what must be one of the best wc games ever (and I aint seen the first 40 mins yet I was asleep) but finally lady luck gave up her german passport.

I agree; however, I'm not sure I would want to be in Germany tonight. I would suggest the Italians refrain from gloating too much on their host turf.

Yes, very much so. They have been magnificent. After that loss, the team didnt start a fight or anything, they just accepted it, gratiously, with tact, and applauded their fans for their support. The fans were good, and even though they will be dissapointed, will probably fill the stadium again for the consolation match.

of course. Throughout the decades of living under the shadow of the Nazi regime that terrorized the world. Germany has certainly prove itself for its bravery of coming out from the shadow and helding their heads high to be a such international welcoming country. Thank you Germany.

I agree and would have liked to see them win the world cup. Though Italy outplayed them and deserved to go through.
It's been a great tournament so far!
