Well, I prefer to be called by my full name, not to be pretentious or anything, it's just that the short for my name sounds like you're calling a kid, and I hate that. My family can do it though.

Diana, which is my name. But the trick is I live in Latvia , my native language is Russian, I teach English and have a bunch of international friends and I speak French. So there are 4 versions of pronunciation for my name which I use individually for each language.

Well, Natalia...
my name is awkward and no-one outside my home country can spell it or pronounce it. It's a pain in the @ss really. There are a few short forms that are OK; I just let them decide for themselves. So everyone calls me different things.
But I would like to have learnt to like my own name when I was young - that's one thing I do regret.

My nickname MeMe from my many grankids and little friends of theirs.I will always go by MeMe now.Adults call me JD my first and middle name initials.My husband has always called me Honey and so does my mom.
