While there are some people, in knowing your friend is gay, will automatically assume you are too. Of course these people do not know you so that makes no difference.
Where it may get you into a bit of trouble is if you begin going to gay party's or bars. Again this is only with people who don't truly know you but, in the work place, could be a problem. Of course if anyone at work starts telling that you were there all you have to ask is how did you know that?
But just because she is gay really means nothing. It means about the same as you being heterosexual. It is no ones business but yours and hers.
Many years ago I had, and still do, have a friend that confided she was gay. Neither my wife or myself were surprised but she was very worried it would make a difference. It did not and we are still friends today.
Do not worry about being friends with her. Your reputation will only be helped or hurt by what you do not by who your friends are. If some of your other friends do not understand and pull away they were not much of a friend anyway.

It might hurt your reputation if you hang out with her. But do you really care? It is your life you have every right to be friends with whom ever you choose. As long as you and her understand each other, and you are comfortabe with the situation. Don't worry about what other people think. Good friends are hard to come by.

You hang with her, and people who know she is gay will automatically assume you are too. That is human nature. Of course they will assume that. Beyond that, there is a saying I heard once: What once we hate, but then tolerate, we soon embrace. I recommend being friendly -- she is a human being with feelings -- but walk separate paths. Straight and gay don't mix. Compromises would be made. You have to look out for yourself and what is best for yourself, despite the political correctness hypocrisy that everyone likes to foist on others but not themselves. Homosexuality is bad for you, plain and simple. Now the ball is in your court. Your decision. Your life. Good journeying.

You are a good friend for remaining her friend because a lot of people think being gay is contagious. About your reputation, a lot of ignorant, naive people think that gay people only hang with gays. Be confident and know who you are.

Why would you even care of what people thought of you just because you hang with her - that's kinda shallow. Be her friend unconditionally - as long as she knows where you stand and she respects that there is no reason you shouldn't hang out whenever with her. If people say anything about who you hang with, they aren't your friends they are just gossip mongers.

reality is most people knew she was a lesbian before she came out and the same people know you and know you are not. If you are a true friend you'd stand by her any way and it wouldn't matter what anybody thought.

not at all unless you live your life based on what other people will think or feel about you. you let it be made known that you are not gay and for that reason that should be all you should explain to anyone. that's your friend.

No way would it effect your life. It shows you are open minded, and you should let your friend's sexuality bother you. Obviously she's cool with you liking c*ck, so be cool with her liking p*ssy.
