According to the NHL Rulebook:
Rule 24 - Puck
a) The puck shall be made of vulcanized rubber, or other approved material, one inch (1") thick and three inches (3") in diameter and shall weigh between five and one-half ounces (51/2 oz.) and six ounces (6 oz.). All pucks used in competition must be approved by the Rules Committee.
b) The home Team shall be responsible for providing an adequate supply of official pucks which shall be kept in a frozen condition. This supply of pucks shall be kept at the penalty bench under the control of one of the regular Off-Ice Officials or a special attendant.

Each team has their own seal on the puck and they have the current years stanley cup symbol and year on the pucks used in the finals. Otherwise all the pucks are the same size and weight and are frozen prior to the game so the do not bounce on the ice since they are made of rubber.

nope,Viceroy Rubber Company is the only company that makes the Official NHL Puck,you'll notice an authentic puck because it has the Team and NHL logo's vulcanized(baked) right into the rubber,it's not a sticker you can peel off.

During the pregame skate they tend to use pucks made in Slovakia, during the game they use pucks made in Canada.
