I have only watched cricket when I was in Korea. I do not understand the rules. I don't care about the game. I am just curious about the most famous player. Give me some reasons why this player is the greatest.

in test cricket, i would chose brian lara of the maroon-colored west indies as the best because of his class and knack of scoring big scoring innings and boundaries, and his stylish play. he owns the record for most career runs in test cricket.
in the one-dayers, i would chose sachim tendulkar as the best because of his versatility and consistent form in this facet of the game. he has the most centuries and the highest run scorer by a mile in one day career.
generally speaking, sachin has suspassed 10000 runs both in the one day and test forms of the game and for that i chose him the best. but if lara would reach at least 10000 runs in one daters in his career, i might just chose him as the best and most famous cricketer because he has spent lesser time in aachieving his record. lara debuted in 1991.tendulkar debuted in 1989, 2 years more than lara.

Brian Charles Lara... not only does he hold the record of most runs scored (400 not out); he held the previous record which was 365 but he lost it and came back and claimed it. he also holds the record for the most runs in a first class game 501.
he is the most stylish and classical batsman in the gtame today etc etc..
