surely you dont want to get rid of it- tans are sexy! but to avoid it maybe wear a factor 50 sun screen which is total protection and logically you will stay the same colour you are!

Hi, well I'm also dark and during the summer I get a major tan.. However, I happen to like getting tanned, but I could understand if not everyone else does. You could try putting on sun tan lotion- maybe there is one that prevents tanning. Try wearing clothes that cover more of your skin- however, it may be to hot for that, although I am able to, it may be too hard for you, but you could try.

Unfortunately, you can't get rid of a tan, all you can do is wear a very high SPF lotion when going out in the sun, or enjoy the summer mostly indoors.

Exfoliate your skin more often and try to slough off dead skin. Soaking in the bath tub is good for this. Also try applying a high spf sunblock first thing in the morning all over your body and reapply during the day if necessary.

ask Michael Jackson!
alternatively, try using total sunblock the whole year and cover up as much as possible. That should stop you tanning so easily in the first place!
