just use a tweezers. it's usually best to do it RIGHT after you get out of the shower because your pores are open and it doesn't hurt as much.

don't pluck too much because your eyebrows might not grow back right

don't go too thin for the same reason

just barely shape them by plucking stray hairs and giving them a nicely defined arch.

Question from Robin Bircher, San Diego, California

Hi Andy, I have a problem. My eyebrows are not very full and every time I try to color them in or shape them, it hardens my look. I feel like if I try to extend them to far out it looks fake and when I don't extend them they seem to fall short. Any suggestions on what type of products I can use. Thanking you in advance, Robin
Robin, eyebrows are a big problem for lots of women so you are not alone. While the perfect eyebrow can practically give you a small facelift, achieving that brow can be tricky. Here are some tips to help guide you

To determine where your eyebrow should begin and end, use a long thin handled cosmetic brush and hold it vertically on one side of your nose. Any part of your eyebrow that goes past the "line" that the brush handle forms should be plucked or should be filled in to that point. Next hold the brush diagonally (45 degrees) starting at the base of your nose and lay it across the top of your cheekbone extending past the outer corner of your eye. Any part of your eyebrow that goes past the "line" should also be plucked or filled in to that point. This is where your eyebrow should begin and end.
The arch of your eyebrows should peak at the outside of the iris when looking directly into the mirror.
Use a brow pencil, then set that with a touch of brow shadow to fill in your eyebrows, they will look more natural. (Eye shadow can double as brow shadow just choose a color that is a shade lighter than your eyebrow hair color to avoid the Groucho effect!))
Use a stiff slanted brow brush to apply the brow shadow.
In order to fill in your eyebrow properly, stroke the brush and/or pencil back and forth so you cover both the hair and the skin.
Keep in mind that a thicker brow is a younger brow. If you have thinning brows consider using Rogaine cream on them at night.
You can wax your eyebrows just once and the keep the shape by plucking from there on out.
Never pluck the top of your eyebrows because as you get older, eyelids droop and you'll need those hairs on top a few years from now.
Symmetry is key.the more symmetrical your eyebrows the more captivating your eyes.

I find that the best way to shape eyebrows is with a tweezer. I have always tweezed my eyebrows and no one else. It was a huge step at 14 years of age and now I'm 18. I decided to follow the same outline that they had(natural shape) but remove the excess hairs that I did not want. I have not tried waxing because I know I will not know how to control myself if they screw my eyebrows up and also waxing removes collagen from the skin thus making you more suceptable to wrinkles at an early age. Another, I recommend plucking your eyebrows after you shower the warm vapors will open your pores thus making it easier as well as less painful when you pluck them. Afterwards, apply some aloe vera, it makes the skin feel cooler after plucking them. Everyone complements my eyebrows well at least the nice not jealous ones do...

for the start of the eyebrow- take a eyeliner pencil and start at the corner of the eyes and go up. thats wear they'll start.

length or eyebrow- go to the end or you eye and draw up. thats wear they'll end.

for the arch- find the middle of the eye and go straight up. now pencil in with the eyebrow brush were to pluck everything out of the line is waht you pluck.

if shes scared to pluck -- take her to get her eyebrows waxed it usually ranges anywhere from 5-15 dollars. then pluck them to keep the shape.

well...i tried doing my own when i was younger and it left me with super skinny eyebrows and that is never good because people never want to wait for them to grow back.

I see people all the time with little tiny, lopsided, uneven eyebrows and i feel for them. I've been there. It really doesnt look good.

I would go to a beauty shop and get them waxed. It only cost about 6 bucks here and they look good and stay that way longer than plucking.

Well the best way is to have them waxed. You can do this at your own home. You can go to a dermatologist center and buy some eyebrow wax for about 20-27.00$.You have to heat the wax over a stove for about 10-15 minutes, use a craft stick(popsicle stick)
to apply on the eyebrows, wait for it to harden and kinda flick it with your pointer finger and quickly pull.It won't hurt if you do it quick.it will be a little red for a bit then it goes away.i hope you take my advoce.goodluck and goodbye.

Go to a beauty supply and get some professional SURGI WAX brow shapers. They are preshaped "sticky" strips. Make sure you wash the eyebrow area first. when dry, make sure you pat POWDER ON YOUR BROWS before you apply the strip. Then, rip off just like a leg waxing strip. No heating is necessary.
After that, I use one of those "micro touch or soft touch" grooming electric trimmers, using the brow attachment, and cut the length. Good luck

When it's the first time it's a good idea to go to a beauty or nail salon where they can wax your brows. They'll show you the natural shape to go with, then all you have to do is pluck them to maintain that shape.

Wax is the best way to shape them. The definition actually depends on the roundness of her face. You should take her to a salon so they dont get ruined.

For the love of all that is holy, let a professional (who has good eyebrows themselves) shape your eyebrows. People don't realize how crucial eyebrows are to one's face. Leave this to the pros.
