Reindeer is not like Penguins. Because they have & do appear in different dresses / coats / wrappers /SKINS.
The Reindeers generally live in snowy regions like The Arctic in the Northern Hemisphere. It is not so cold as the Antartica. So, it has a skin built for snow. Two layers of HAIR, the inner being woolly & fine trapping against its body for warmth. The outer hair coat is long & Hollow to protect it from cold & help it swim (getting Buoyancy)
The Penguin, on the other hand, lives in the coldest Antartica Region & has a coat (SKIN) of thick layer of FAT under the skin to help itself insulated itself against the cold. They are small so that they won't send out bodily heat. The Penguins too swim using their wings but can't fly! How sad, a bird that can't fly!

they do like penguins...it's just that reindeer have a lot of flying to do,especially at christmas time and penguins are very fattening.I once saw a 63 stone reindeer trying to deliver presents over Sutton Coldfield. The poor bugger got stuck in a chimney and the fire service had to cut it out.Santa was livid, the reindeer got fired. It lives in Reading now ,it's a postman with 2 kids.

Unfortunately all creatures without opposable thumbs are going to struggle, unless they use their teeth. :)
