Sounds like they have a pretty close relationship. When you have children, he will probably be a good father because of his experience with his dad.

Maybe he uses this time to see to the care of his father. He may feel that he is taking time away from you if you are at home so he waits until you are gone. I would be proud to have a husband who took time to see about their parents. I wonder why you would question something like this.

I wouldnt complain to much if thats all thats going on. I would think thats a good thing...my parents have been married for 28 years and they are getting ready to hit their 50's. I am guessing that you and your husbands ages are somewhere along the same line. Which means your husbands dad must be getting along in age and many times people think about what life might be like without their parents. When your parents get up in age you tend to worry alot more and spending time with them becomes a priority. Him spending time with his father is a good thing as long as he is not totally blowing you off. If you are off doing your thing without him then him spending time with his dad shouldnt be a problem. It becomes a problem when he is blowing you off. But it just depends on the circumstances for one of why he has this time on his hands...but I wouldnt be concerned him spending time with his father. Even in older ages its good for fathers and sons to bond. Its very cool to even think about actually. At least he is doing something constructive with his time and not out doing things he shouldnt.

Maybe he just likes spending time with his father. Maybe his father is older and he thinks he should get in as much time now rather than wake up one day and realize that they didn't spend enough time together.

He might cherish the time with his father, but is careful to never put the relationship ahead of the one you have with him. He might take advantage to the time you are not around so as to not detract from his time with you.

It's better than being with another woman! Let him spend time with his dad! After you, he probably enjoys his company plenty, like best friends.
