I was once stranded in New York City on my way to Canada, I was 15 years old and I had no one to turn to. I walked to Grand Central Station and lugged suitcases for tips for several days until I had enough money to get a bus to the airport and continue on my way.

Not fun then, embarrassing and made me very sad to see all the other homeless people who had nowhere to go. I at least had a plane ticket out of there.

NO, but I have had several people ask me, and I must say I hate it. I feel like I am on the spot and if I am a jerk if I say no. Usually , I have no money to give them period. I am by no means wealthy and struggle just to pay off bills and try to provide my kids with everything they need. Sometimes I feel like saying, hey buddy, you probably have more than me, so pass some my way.
