I got my BA in Liberal Science with a concentration in Humanities. I've been trying to find employement opportunities but no luck. I need more skills. I though of getting an MA but I have a low GPA 2.47 and in California you need at least 2.5 to apply as a grad student. I can't move because I'm married. I'm getting older and a second BA could help me get into an MA program if I improve my grades. Other than that I do'n know what else could I do. I feel like a big looser.

Some grad programs in california allow you to re-take the prerequisites in order to get a higher grade and raise your g.p.a. (that's what I did). That could save you from doing another b.a. Call the graduate program you're interested in and find out what options you have.

What kind of employment are you looking for? Your first step should be to establish a goal, so you know where you are headed.
Your problem might not be a lack of skills, but a lack of experience. There are any number of non profit agencies would could benefit from the skills you already have, and provide you with the experience that would prove to an employer that you are capable of handling a job.
Adding another BA is more years of study, an MA after that is still more -- and no guarantees at the end, because you still won't have experience, and that's what most employers want, rather than a string of initials after your name. So try working with what you've got -- even if you do it as a volunteer, you won't be out anything, because you wouldn't be earning while you were a student either.
Hope this is helpful.

You could try retaking some of those classes you got low grades in if the school will replace the lower grade with the higher one. It may be cheaper. Take a look at the other majors of your choice. Which ones will accept a majority of your completed course so that you can spend a minimum amount of time getting a second bachelor's. Search out jobs that have descriptions in which you have strengths. I got a bachelor's in psych, but ended up helping LD students at HS and college level, so who knows? Good luck.

I concur with the answer to think about what you like and love to be involved with. And consider this. University of Phoenix Online offers their enrollment advisors or any staff person 100% free tuition in their programs. You might work for decent money, earn a better GPA by taking individual classes or a Master's program and wind up in a better situation overall in a matter of 18 months.
UOPhoenix is one of many universities that offers online degrees that work for working people with a desire for more education and all that comes with it. Walden University is another with a presence in SoCal for enrollment advisors...there are many.

But most importantly, as my mentor from HS told me when I was ffailing my core classes for my initial choice of major. Do what you love and the grades will follow. Do what you love and the money will come too. Consider the consequences of more student debt before you dive in for more education.

And you are not a loser. As my 5 year old said, god/the universe didn't create things that are garbage...ask yourself, what do you care about. And contact those you know who work in those areas and be bold and confident as best you can.

Bliss,
Deborah

you should have learned the first time that a degree is pretty close to worthless , especially liberal science , maybe if you get onoe in english you will find a job

all jokes aside , just go find a job with or without your degree . When you were a kid and were told you can doing anything you want to , that was a lie

Half the jobs in the newspaper want to see some business experience.

If you took some accounting, marketing, managing etc classes wouldn't that both improve your GPA and get your foot in various corporate doors?

yea a second Ba to get the MA would be sweet. Eventually you will need to get experience but don't settle for a job that you don't really want. Thats what makes me a bigger loser then you.

There is an expression: Use what you have. Without realising it you have just advertised yourself in a unique way. We need people like you in the world. Could you offer your services to amnesty or greenpeace for one day a week for free. I think it is time for life learning now. Close those books and go and help humanity. We really need your help.
