Depends on how much weight you would want to lose and nothing is easy, unfortunately. A good plan is South Beach, because it teaches you a different way to eat, contains all food groups and identifies between good carbs (fruits & whole grains) vs. bad carbs (donuts, ice cream). And I would recommend cardiovascular/areobic work outs 3-4 times weekly, for at least 20 minutes, and adding weight training if you have access to a gym. Swimming is also great exercise, if you feel comfortable in a bathing suit, that is. If you choose activities that you enjoy, also, you have a better chance at success.

im 14 too or i will be in 5 days but i weighed 124 pounds in the beginning of june and now i weight 119
it was reducing carbs from my diet and walking at night
i read that if you are going to excersise at night, do it after 7pm
i walked for about 30 minutes every night
you MUST have breakfast, i recommend cereal (honey nut cheerios)
have a big lunch
have an early dinner (before 6-7pm if you can)
people might say 14 is too young to lose weight and go on diets but if all the adults can do it, why can't we?

If you want to lose a pound or two the healthy way, just make healthy choices. Drink water, juice, iced tea and lemonade with meals instead of soda, shakes or fruit drinks. The easy food "replacements" are fresh fruit instead of snack foods, peanuts or almonds instead of candy and replace french fries with a vegetable that you like or just add a little more meat. You should be exercising everyday at 14. Walk, bike or swim everyday...you choose which one for that day but give it a good 20-30 minutes everyday. This combo of exercise and healthy food replacements will give you good results without taking forever. Write down your goal, like a giant "10" if you want to lose ten pounds and place it on your mirror to see everyday. Keep up the routine with a shorter workout ( 3-5 days) after you reach your weight goal, though. It is easy to gain it back if you don't change your lifestyle to be healthy forever. But, why wouldn't you want to be healthy anyway?

Lose weight or Loose weight?
If you want to *lose* weight, then you need to start watching what you are eating. This means cutting out fast food, greasy or fattening snacks, and sodas and increasing the amount of fruits, vegetables and fresh things in your diet.
You also need to start exercising regularly. Not just walking around, but getting your heart rate up so that your body will burn calories more. It doesn't have to be running a marathon - but something that gets you moving and using your muscles.
Good luck to you.

A 14 year old should not be worrying about a weight problem. If it is that bad I would reccommend under doctor's supewrvision. Walking and lots of water does help lose weight though.

Make them get out of the house and do stuff like wlak the dog or if that doesn't work brib them ex: I'll give u $5 if u go run down to the store for me and get me something(what ever it may be). but also give them a time limt so they rush add a little challenge to it like the faster you do that and get home the more money or the more prizes. It worked all the time for me and my brothers.

I agree that you should walk. I'm 16 and that works best for teens... I had tried everything else and it didn't work as great. Don't eat food after 7:00, that's a no-no, and eat healthy. Try not to eat foods high in fat and stay away from desserts... Good luck!!

Me personally, I think you should go on a diet exercise everyday. You can also dance like 15 minutes a day strait non stop ( just make sure you know how to dance). Just kiddin, but you can go on a south beach diet. They have great food, low calories, and it's good for you (good luck).
