You answer and rate questions to gain points. You lose points by asking, but you get points for choosing a best answer or having your answer as the chosen one. The points move you up levels and let you do more on Y!Answers like answer and rate and ask more questions. At the top levels, you receive a prize, although I don't know what it is - ask a level 7 for that!

It's just a system that Yahoo found to drive people to their service. Most of people have a spirit of competition, so when you give them the illusion that they have something to win, they are going to get involved. It's like giving a child cookies to encourage him doing something. Well ... in marketing, you need to know human psychology in order to get something from people and if Yahoo wants more traffic, they have to be creative.

we're supposed to brag about how many we have if you get a ton of em you can be the top scorer though otherwise thier totally pointless haha that is kinda wierd the points are pointless !!!

Once you have earned enough points you can trade it in for Yahoo Cyber Beer. :) You are shown the picture of beer and you can lick the monitor.

I wuz thinking that. I thnik it gets u 2 levels. I'm only on level 1! I dont know the difference. Why wolud level 2 b different from level1?? I dunno, really. Thats wat i heard!
