i think it was about homer realising he wasn't that great of a father and he tries to be a better father or something.....

well i believe it was a WHOLE episode dedicated to it....
i don't think it's the one homer gives lisa a present
i remember there was like a whole confessional dialogue from homer....

There are several. The ones that come to mind are Lisa's beauty pageant, when Homer bought Lisa a horse and took a second job, when Homer gets a P.I. to follow Lisa to get info on her faves, the one where Homer and Lisa wind up breaking into an Egyptian exhibit and another one where Homer and Lisa wind up in New Age sensory deprivation tanks.
Oh, yeah and the one where Homer gets a crayon removed from his brain. Betcha I"m missing lots others, but that's all for now!

I think it is the one in which Bart gives Homer a Leather Buddy for a gift ( think father's day) and Lisa makes a book in which her father and her are unicorns.

There is usually at least one episode every other season that touches upon this.
The end result being that no matter how much Homer screws up, Lisa still loves her father.

The one that comes to mind is when Homer has a Crayon removed from his nose and ends up really intelligent and they bond but he cant take the pressure of being smart so he shoves a crayon back in his nose

maybe the one where homer and marge go to a hotel and let grandpa watch the kids . in the meantime bart looses his clothes somehow and wears a paper sack , then the social worker walks in their house that is trashed and see bart in a sack . then they have to go to parenting classes and have ned watch the kids til they finish
