Not sure what your looking for. Whenever you start digging around a PCs internals you should always have a grounding strap on so components don't accidentally discharge while you're handling them. This is one way to fry parts. Another tip is not to handle cards, memory modules, etc. anywhere around their pins (where the contact points are that will slide into their respective slots. Don't handle a power supply shortly after unplugging it from its power source so you don't get electrocuted. Always try not to force things into place, be gentle. Pretty much common sense really.

First unplug form wall socket \then make sure you are grounded.
do not touch any part for at least a half hour so there cool,now with a grounding wrist ban[Radio shack,comp usa-about 6.00 dollars]do not work in socks or on rug[static ]I use wood my self.
do not touch contacts as oil in your skin can mess thing up very fast and change what you need to change.Always try to take your time and don't force any part in or out of slots and you should be find

Well I think you mean software, so, you want to have a firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware. those are the basics you want.
