The Patriot, staring Mel Gibson is a pretty good but not great movie.
1776 is a wonderful musical about the delegates fighting over the Declaration of Independence.
The Crossing - stars Jeff Daniels as George Washington - about Washington leading the troops as they cross the Delaware
John Jakes' The Bastard - a two-part miniseries that takes place in the Colonies during the Revolution.
Liberty! The American Revolution is a great 6 hour DVD.
Johnny Tremain - Disney movie based on a great book about a young silversmith who becomes involved in the American Independence movement.
Drums Along the Mohawk - 1939 film staring Henry Fonda, directed by John Ford - about settlers in Western New York who begin fighting Indians, but end up as Americans.
The Howards of Virginia - 1940 film staring Cary Grant.
Benedict Arnold, A question of Honor - 2003 film made for A&E staring Aidan Quinn and Kelsey Grammer - very well done.
Northwest Passage is a 1940 film staring Spencer Tracy about the French and Indian War.
Revolution - 1985 film staring Al Pacino. Critics attacked it, but it probably is better film then that. Takes a look at how most of the common people were treated as the revolution went on.

"The Patriot" with Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger is good. There are some historical things in this movie that are true to the war but Gibson's character & the family are fictional. I thought it was well done. "Johnny Tremain" made by Disney takes place right before the Revolutionary War and the start of the war. I'ts based off a book by the same name. I thought the book was much better but that is just my opinion of course.
I hope this gives you some ideas.

That's the sad thing, there haven't been many.
And by the way, NONE of the people who said anythign besides The Patriot had better get the 10 points. Glory, Gods & Generals and North and South were all CIVIL WAR films.
Jeez, take a history class.

The Patriot
I liked Johnny Tremain - but doubt that you could ever find it
FYI: Gods & Generals is a Civil War movie - the prequel to Gettysburg - two great Civil War movies - BTW

The movie version of the musical 1776 is a favorite of mine. It's really about the writing of the declaration of independence but it's a great movie. My dad and i have watched it every year on july 4th for as long as I can remember
