you know that thy are built by the lowest bidder and that can't be safe NASA needs to figures out how to keep their ships together and keep them from falling apart and ya know after there last flight you'd think that they would wait a while before another launch, this is not the first time they have had problems with things falling off the shuttle.& political backing was a possible reason for the earily launch that or they needed to get something up there in a big hurry who knows. mabe its the money or the millitary has something to do with it? (by the way did you figure out what to wear on your date? just asking see ya)

I believe they made the right decision and took the ample time needed to make sure it was safe to lift off. I do think however they need to come up with a better design to launch shuttles I mean this is still the the same design used in the 80's when the Challenger exploded.

I was worried at 1st then i thought everything looked good with the launch. Until the 11 o clock news came on and i saw them talking about 2 peices flew off (foam). Then the worry came back. I think they were rushing into it a little fast. Maybe they should have waited.

I watched the launch today, and just got done watching the post launch news conference. Personally I think they took nothing for granted visa-vee safety. Everything was green for the saturday launch save the weather,(anvils at 20 mis). To scrub a launch for the mere chance of lightning at a distance when everything else was green spoke volumes on their commitment towards crew safety. It's obvious this launch wasn't just another day at the office. I think everything was scrutinized to the 9th degree. If you have such a high level of confidence why not launch on a holiday ?

I really can't believe that they didn't hold off on the launch. Nothing like just having to wait and see on the re-enter.

Has me worried as as soon as I found out there was a problem with the foam again. You would think they wouldn't be taking a single risk for this one, let alone the same problem as before. I'll keep my fingers crossed when they are re-entering!
