I'm BBQing some chicken for me and my 2 munchkins, then I am going to break the law and burn up some firecrackers and a few other fireworks I have....I really hate that fireworks ar illegal in New York state! But I live way out in the country so I won't be bothering anybody...I don't think ;o)

We went to The Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Town Center where there were fun things to do and eat and see. The kids had a blast! They did just about everything there except get their faces painted because the line was over an hour and a half long! We were there from opening time until about 2pm, then we came home to eat lunch. We soaked hot dogs in beer to give them extra flavor (yummy) then grilled them. The kids also chowed down on Cheetos and soda. For dessert we each had a slice of triple chocolate bundt cake. It was delicious! (Had to workout extra today to make up for it!)

It started raining around 8pm, so the fireworks were canceled. Denver did fireworks though, after the rain stopped around 10:30pm, and we were lucky enough to see some of those.

I wrote about it on my blog, and even posted pics, in case you're interested.

Im dislaying my patriotism in a humble kind of way. my husband is Air Force, 17 years under the belt, and to show my appreciation, im cooking a special dinner for him and we have this awesome old fire escape that acts like a balcony now, i set it up with red white and blue lights with flags and such and im laying blankets and pillows down so we can lay down and watch the fireworks from the AFB thats right down the street...for dessert, his fave, root beer floats, and then second dessert...well, i cant mention that here :)

I did...make it a kick back, stay in my nightie day. Needed it. I didn't want to go out in the heat or be in any crowds. I'm lucky to have a balcony that allowed me to see fireworks at a lake nearby. Saw some beautiful ones and prayed for our men in combat. Tears came to my eyes as I prayed for them because I feel this is such a senseless war. Enough! Bring our men home! Wake up Bush............!
