how does my JVC cassette deck hook up to th back of my PC ? Is it phono plug to USB or what?

I am trying to burn some cd's from my old tape collection.

You should get the Griffin iMic. It's an audio interface that connects to a USB port. On the iMic you will connect your tape deck with composite (red and white connectors) to minijack.

The iMic will digitize your analog music on to your computer.
