I can relate!! When I got my period when my husband and I were trying to conceive, I was *hearbroken*!! I did get pregnant shortly afterwards, but I still remember how awful I felt...

A pap smear has nothing to do with fertility. It only checks for cancer. If you have cancer, you are probably infertile, but not having cancer doesn't guarantee that you *are* fertile.

The first thing I would suggest is that you learn about your body and how to recognize when you are most fertile. That is the single most important thing you can do to increase your chances of getting pregnant. You need to chart your basal body temperature and cervical fluid. It is a fairly simple process, but the explanation is long (lots of different variations to explain; only a small amount of which will apply to you, but you never know which part!!). I would suggest you read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. It explains everything in much more detail than I could in a few paragraphs...

I was 10 days late on my period and I thought that I was fianlly pregnant, of course I wasn't. I have no children yet and I have been trying for about 2 years now with no luck. You are lucky to at least have 1 for now.
I do know how disappointed you feel though, I deal with it too every month. I think that your husband is trying to be supportive, but I think men handle their emotions a lot differently. Also, the stress is all on you and I know how that feels. I cannot tell you how to concieve because I have not found out myself, and I can't tell you not to be upset, but I can tell you that life goes on and there is a reason for everything. Maybe, like me, it's not your time yet.

Don't worry. In the old days with no birth control
people didn't go around having kids back to back
all of the time. Just relax and be patient.

I'm sorry things aren't working out the way you wanted them to. I'd be more worried about his sperm not being good. Get him checked out first. This is next to impossible but try not to be stressed. Being stressed out could make it harder for you to get pregnant.
