As one poster said, EVERYBODY has great ideas for TV shows. Yes, I know... yours are SO much better than anything on TV right now. And yes I know... no one has ideas like yours. Those words have been said, are said, and will be said by thousands of people every day in Los Angeles alone.

The very sad truth is that you will never get your show on TV this way. If you are serious, you need to learn how to write up your shows as treatments. Then write up your ideas. Then register them with the WGA to protect them. Then learn how to write a letter of inquiry to a literary agent. Then you need to find out which agents will read unsolicited material. Then you need to find out which of those agents will read treatments as opposed to full scripts. Then you need to send your inquiry letters and wait for one of them to tell you to send your treatment. Then you need to send your treatments to that agent. Then you need to wait and see if they like the idea. Then you most likely will need to learn how to deal with rejection. But even if they like it and want to pitch it, you need to realize that they will want to option your idea for no money so that there is no risk to them. And then you will need to wait for 12 to 18 months while that agent MAYBE pitches your idea to someone. And when that time period goes by with no interest, you need to start all over again.

Do yourself a favor and just tell your ideas to your friends. Then they can tell you how brilliant you are and you can save yourself a LOT of heartache.

What's your idea? If it's similar to a soap opera, then it would prabably be a great tv show.
