She's making movies now, but do you think she can seriously be a good actor?

No. The true way to be a serious actor is to take on serious roles. She has not done that. When she has a role where she's not scantily-clad like the typical sexual object, then she might become a good actress. Right now, however, no way.

the only thing jessica simpson is good at playing is...jessica simpson...her "character" from newleyweds...which most producer/directors probably want out of her when they hire her

No, she just sticks out her chest and butt saying short quick lines. That's all anybody expects out of her and that's all that she will achieve as an 'actress'.
