Do you think the legal right to carry a concealed weapon protects law abiding citizens or criminals? Why?

Yes. Without question.

Criminals or those intent to do criminal acts do not follow the laws regarding concealed carry. They just carry a weapon.

Only law-abiding citizens go through the trouble to get certified and licensed and respect the law.

I have personally defended a woman who was being badly beaten with a piece of steel pipe by her husband. I did not have to shoot him, but if I had not been armed, he could have killed her with one more blow to the head.

Crimes committed by people who have CCLs are almost non-existant.

I believe that if law enforcement could ever get rid of the weapons in the hands of criminals, then ordinary citizens wouldn't feel the need to carry weapons themselves.

Until that time, the concealed weapon law should remain in effect. You simply cannot have a society that removes guns from law abiding citizens while they're fully aware that criminals will never give theirs up.

It protects the citizens by god I carry and have never had to draw my weapon but it is like the old saying goes better to have it and not need it then not have it and need it it would drop the crime rate if everyone would carry in my opinion a gun is just a tool and a right to defend yourself or others in immediate danger can't be wrong thank the powers that be that georgia has passed the shoot first law way to go NRA

Criminals - by definition - do not care about the laws. So any law that restricts the right to bear arms only handicaps the law abiding citizens!

If someone carries and feels threatened they will point and threaten. If pushed they will use it. If the other has no weapon - whoops here comes prison and someones dead!

Domestics - look at the number of spouses who have died because a gun was handy. Look at the number of children who have died or shot another playing with a parents weapon. Look at the number of school and workplace massacres.

Is that a price worth paying for the freedom to carry a gun?

legal of course ,but no matter what the situation there will always be someone that abuses the privelage for their own personal greed and or stupidity. Dont matter if its a gun a weapon is anything that can be used to inflict pain and or death. If you out lawed guns what is there to stop someone from using a hammer, screwdriver, fountain pen, etc.Might as well let be legal its up to the individual to decided their actions.

In my life I have come into a few situations where having weapon was a life saver. Imagine a very petite female being cornered in the middle of nowhere by a bunch of drunken idiots wanting a piece of her. It happened to me and thanks to the ability to have a concealed weapon I am here today to answer your question.

I carry a gun because I used to live in downtown ATL and the bums were mean so I bought me a .380. I still keep it in my car so I can pop a cap if I have too!
