There are some women who don't spill HCG (the hormone tested for in pregnancy tests--both home and professional, urine and blood) into their urine until 2-3 *months* into a pregnancy.
You should know, however, that abdomenal pain is *not* typical of early pregnancy symptoms. It is more likely to be a sign of ovulation...think back at least 3 1/2 weeks--was there a stress in your life that could have delayed ovulation? Your period is *always* on time (about 2 weeks after ovulation), but stress can delay ovulation so that your period *seems* to be late. In this case, a pregnancy test would also be wrong because you're testing too early...

just call the gyno tomorrow and ask her advice. when you call the office, ask to speak to the doctor or his/her nurse. hopefully you'll get the nurse, who will ask the doctor asap what for you to do.
pregnancy does not generally cause sharp pains, unless it is a tubal pregnancy which can be VERY dangerous for you. if the pain gets worse, go to the ER, ok? if it stays the same or gets better, then call the doctor tomorrow.
blood tests can discover pregnancy sooner that urine tests. but if you're 12 days late, the urine tests should be working. even on a tubal pregnancy...
so, maybe it's something else. i once had sharp pains in my abdomen because of financial stress. it went on for 2 weeks, and resolved as soon as the stress resolved.

The 1st 2 test I took said negative. I went and had a blood test and it said positive. The at home test didn't show positive until I was at least 2 and 1/2 months along.

The blood test never lies, but the home pregnancy tests can come back with false negtives and false positives. I only trust the blood test. My Mom is a fantastic example of this. When she was pregnant with my brother, the home test came back negative, but she was sure she was pregnant so she went to her doctor to get a second opinion. Sure enough, the blood test and the physical exam both came back positive.
When in doubt, always see your doctor.

Yes, when I was pregnant with my second child, I used 3 home tests ( different brands ) over two months, then when i went to the dr I was almost 3 months pregnant. I was informed that sometimes the test doesnt read right if there are certain conditions- unfortunately I dont remember the conditions, but it does happen.

A blood test is never wrong, but pregnancy tests are not useful to women who have some genetic disorders like albinoism.
