well the truth is you don't have to tell anyone that you have any convictions , The only time it would come in to question and that's if you get Arrested over there. I wouldn't worry about it.

I applied to the US Embassy for a visa,I detailed ( a memorandum of conviction supplied by the courts) my convictions (some serious) and was granted entry. One our party had a criminal record and no visa and was refused entry.
-Its a long way to go to take a chance.

You should get a visa. You could lie when you fill in the visa waiver but it's not worth it. I would have thought you'd have problems renting a car, tho.

when i got banned i had to apply to the american embassy in london and get a visa for my passport just to get in the country! Phone the american embassy and see what they say.

Talk to the US embassy, but there should be no problems.
