It could be IBT band syndrome. Some injuries actually feel better while you run, then you hurt BAD later. Discomfort is normal but should be shortlived after a run. Your pain is NOT normal and you should do some other type of exercise for a while until this inflammatory response settles down.

You might tire out more quickly than you think leading to an "unexpected" pain if it is muscle pain. If you feel your bones hurt then it may be that you have no arch in your foot. Seeing a Foot Doctor will definitly help as they can make custom Orthotics for you. It's most likely your flat feet if you feel pain in your lower leg and bones. If you feel pain in your thighs and upper legs then you are pushing yourself to your limit.
You say after a couple of hours you can hardly move, is that while running for a couple of hours? or jsut walking around after running for 30 min or so? And also, do you run or jog?
If you want to gain more endurance, then you can try weighting your body down and running, but Do Not run at a slower pace. If you do then you will be doing more harm then good.
My best advice would be to see your doctor

I do not know how long you have been running but do you warm up before and do cool down stretches. or maybe you are running to long to soon? Or you need to see you MD because you have a injury that you are not aware off. You really need to get it checked out before you do permanent damage and then you may not be able to run for a really long time. Make sure you are wearing really good running shoes. That is all i can think could be the problem. Get checked soon. I would only fast walk till you do. After you run you should not hurt like that. That is not normal.

If you are running the same distance and at the same pace, continuing leg pain should not be occuring. You muscles should be built to the point they are not tearing and building constantly. If you are increasing your distance and/or pace, yes you will have leg pain as the muscles tear a build. The saying of "No Pain No Gain" is true, but doesn't explain all pain.
I recommend you see your doctor and get check, if only to ease your own mind. Often, something that can be fixed, when caught early, often is unfixable when found later.

I agree with the earlier answers. I run as well and when I have pain it's usually because I did not stretch and warm up properly. Be sure to stretch before, during and after running. Also, make sure you are wearing correct footwear. If you stil experience pain, try elevating your legs and applying ice packs in 15 min intervals and take an anti-inflamatory (such as Advil/Motrin or Tylenol). If you continue to experience pain, then you need to see your doctor. Good luck! I love running, hate to miss it for injuries!

Frequently muscle pain is caused by dehydration. Try to drink a decent amount of water on a regular basis, and especially before you run. This should help a lot. And in case you are not stretching before you run, do so...that could be the whole problem.

It could be normal, but does your leg hurt really bad in the morning? You could be having a RSI which is repetitive strain injury, where you keeping tearing something, but I'll leave your Dr. to decide that. You really should be icing and wraping you leg after you run, but I would not run, and try not to walk on your legs again, until you go to a Dr!!

That's normal. When you are exercising, what happens is that your muscles are torn. Then they rebuild themselves, and thats why muscles get bigger. You should take some sort of protein shake right after running, it will help with your muscles and all I can say about the pain, is relax for awhile, and it will go away on its own.

Okay, a couple of hours? First of all, if you're running for a couple hours, you're overdoing it. Warm up before you run with stretches and joint rotation. It's supposed to hurt, but not so bad you can't stand it. Maybe try running more often, but for shorter distances.

Definately see a doctor just to be sure. But in the meantime, you could just try icing you legs? I always do that when my legs hurt from dancing. Also take Advil or something.
