Evidently you will have to start off by ferry from Sicily to mainland Italy.
After that your most logical and inexpensive option is by bus.

You will probably have to go via Reggio Calabria - Rome - Milan - Lyons - Paris - Le Mans.

Here is a website with the bus lines in Italy.

www.italybus.it (sorry it isn't in english!)

At some point you may find it worth your while to transfer to a train.... (There is a line that does Milan - Lyons - Paris, and from there you will have either local trains or buses to Le Mans.)

You will be able to find the information at:

www.sncf.fr & www.paris-on-line-com

Good Luck...and have a nice trip!

I don't believe there are many other options other than trains. I used the high speed eurail train... It was quite nice and only took a few hours. Sorry I can't help you out much!!

I am sorry that everyone else here is being a jerk. I looked around a bit more for you. Even busses are quite expensive. I hope that you find a solution...

attempt this internet site for an entire selection of the main inexpensive airways. There must be some going between the Rome and Paris. there is an airport at Pisa too that's on the threshold of Florence (if fact be told i assumed it replaced into the main nicely-known one from the section, so i could verify that too)

Maybe with an attitude like yours you should stay home as the French may not want you.
