I don't know if you are separated or divorced. You have to analyze why you miss him and why he left or you booted him. It is natural to miss someone you knew and were married to, but eight years from now, you may be married to a totally different person without the flaws that caused your first separation. Here is what to do:

Make a list of good and bad about your relationship. If the good far outweigh the bad, then call him. If he is willing to talk, do so; if he isn't, move on with your life.

Get out and meet people; go to the supermarket, singles bars, church socials, etc. where you might meet someone else.

Always remember, you may be alone now, but three years from know, I am sure you won't be.

Good luck!

My parents have been divorced for over 16 years and my mom still loves and cares for my dad. So you will probably never get over him but after time you will heal. Just remember there are other fish in the sea. Good luck.

You have to explain why he left. If its because there was an affair, that may be tough to start a relationship again, but if he just feel out of love with you you may be able to win him over again. He did marry you for a reason.

i think you should forget about it. there is a reason the other person left, and it may not have anything to do with you. However, you have to ask yourself do you really want someone back who has said (even if not in words) by leaving that they don't want to be with you?

I would be really devasted too, but if you make something of yourself, you'll find that he will want you back someday, and he'll regret ever leaving.
