My Best Friend is going out with a 22 year old boy and she is only 15. They do seem in love n all but its just the age difference i am worried about (for her safety and feelings etc).
I just dont want to see her get hurt!! He says he loves her but is it really true and she says she loves him which i know is true because she has never been like this over a boy that she has just fancied or had a crush on.
What should i do?

This friend of yours needs to be careful!

Not to say this guy doesn't love her, but if something would happen between them and it would get nasty....her parents could charge him with statutory rape since he is an adult and she is a minor.

gee reminds me of myself I was 16 he was 28...it was summer puppy love on my part..believe me she really doesn't know a lot about love yet and the 22 year old is probably not mature at his age or he would know better than to mess around with a minor. It's good that she has a friend, telling her parents would stop the relationship but then you'd pro bally loose your friend. Maybe try to distract her with some boys your own age...and talk to her about birth control because sooner or later the 22 year old will want to go there and she'll end up pregnant at 15.....not good

Its really hard to see how creepy this situation is when you are in it. I also dated a guy who was 22 when I was 15. Until I was in my twenties, I had no idea why other people thought it was so wrong. The reality is that although 7 years isn't that much when you are older, when the two people are at such TOTALLY different stages of their lives it isn;t healthy for either of them. If they are really serious, let them wait it out a few years. See if its worth it then. Besides, it is also illegal in most places and he could easily go to jail!

A seven-year age difference is very big at her age, and is probably illegal. That doesn't mean that his feelings aren't real. However, it is VERY unlikely that it is true love.

So here's the thing, if it is true -- love is patient and will wait a couple years while they really get to know each other as FRIENDS. A friendship is the best foundation for a long-term relationship to succeed, because it is built on mutual interests and respect.

You don't say if they've had sexual relations yet. If they haven't, tell her to wait -- if he loves her, he will not pressure her or want to disrespect her wishes. You and your friend should NEVER compromise your values or dignity for anyone.

You might remind the guy that 15 will get him 20 in most places. It is an indictable offence in lots of places. I always have to question what a man of 22 wants from a girl of 15?

Seven years does not seem like it is much different when you are young, but as you age it makes a big difference. She will regret giving up her options the rest of her life. When you are 15 the world is at your feet. Her boyfriend already had his years of making choices. She should ask him to wait for her. If in four years or so, he is still interested then she will really know if he is a keeper.

If your friend know she loves him and he loves her then let them be. Age is nothing but a number, they just got to remember they can't let it be none tell she is old enough cause that is were the sadness comes an because even thow some people dosen't see age as a number it is a law that a 18yeard old dating a 16year old and younger. And let your friend know even thow he is older then her do not let him take avenage of her cause that is what must older men do to younger girls please belive i know i been there plenty of times and it doesn't feel good at all.

uh yeah, kinda gross. He must be either perverted, taking advantage of her, or really badly adjusted. No one who is 22 should EVER want to date a 15-year old. You should talk to her about it, maybe even drop a comment to her parents and hopefully they won't tell her who told them! I'm sure they wouldn't be OK with it. But this guy may really hurt her, and may be in it for all the wrong reasons..
