You need to go back to FOLDER options then FILE TYPES and put it back the way it was. Or you might want to do a system restore to yesterday so that it resets everything you have done.

Go to START, then Programs, then Accessories, then System tools and you can use System Restore.

Go to Folder options again. Under General tab, there is an option called "click items as follows". Make sure that Double click is enabled here.
There is also an option called Restore Defaults. Try it out.

RESOLUTION
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this problem, edit the registry to set the value data for the Default string value in the registry keys that are described in the "Cause" section of this article to none: 1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe 'REGEDIT worked for me personally when regedit32 didn't so it's up to your computer').
2. Locate and then click the Default value under the following keys in the registry if this problem occurs with folders:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\sh...
If this problem occurs with drives:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
3. Click Modify on the Edit menu.
4. Type none in the Value data box, and then click OK.
5. Quit Registry Editor.

pass into your administration panel, click on hardware and sound, then click on Mouse homes, then you'll see button tab, click it, and modify the speed on double click % to quick and it has a tester proper there to envision it and examine out it and also you would possibly want to be all good...

hmm....it sounds like u almost did it yourself...maybe accidently?
But try going on my computer and searching the folder (or folders) that are doing this and edit them.
