I have several dozen stuffed animals I would like to donate. They are not brand new, but they are in very good condition. It seems most places will accept them only if they are brand new.

Call around and ask your local hospital to see what their policy is....you might also want to check at the police or fire station in you area. I know some of them take a stuffed animal to children who are affected by a loss.....the toy gives them a little comfort.

Another place is a domestic violence shelter. Women with their young children go there and the kids need something to hold onto.....just a few ideas to throw out there to you.

Have you tried the Red Cross? when we left town for hurricane Katrina we ended up at a shelter and they were giving the kids stuffed animals, they didn't look brand new to me.

I would have to say the Salvation Army and/or St. vincent Depaul. Another great orgaization that accepts donations is the hurricane relief foundations.

Your local Crisis Center , Single Parent Shelters, or a local United States Military Base or Fort for those children who miss their dads and moms.

Battered women's shelters would be the best place to donate such toys. Those could be quite soothing for a child (and a young woman) who is there trying to escape the brutality of their significant other or their abusive parent.
