I've seen all four of these movies and I absolutely LOVE them all! I would have to say The Color Purple is my favorite. It is just so sad and heartwarming at the same time. Then, Grease, Ghost, Losing Isaiah. I bawled my eyes out watching Losing Isaiah!

I am definitely a Grease junkie. I have the vhs, the DVD, and the special edition DVD. I've seen the movie over 100 times I'm sure and yet i still can't get enough. I often find myself singing hopelessly devoted to you. LOL I like ghost too. Whoopie Goldberg was really funny in that one. I thought the special effects were cool, when the people would die and the spirits would come and take their souls. Definitely a good movie. I've only seen losing Isaiah once.

I liked Alice Walker's book MUCH better than I liked the movie that was made from it.
"Losing Isaiah" was good, because it didn't take the easy way out, and it examined all sides of the issue--something that typical Hollywood films don't do, because they're usually designed for people who want to be entertained and not have to THINK about things.
"Ghost" was all over the place: A mystery, a comedy, Sci-Fi/fantasy, drama, romance. It was a tad too sentimental and "New Age-y" for my taste, but I found it to be enjoyable. And the acting was good.
"Grease" works well, as a musical. As a "message" movie, I don't care for the notion of changing yourself just to get a guy, but what they heck? It was all in good fun. My favorite musical is "Cabaret."

Those were all good, have you seen all the older Travolta movies? He tries to work in a dance routine in every one. I watch his movies just for that. He was really good in Urban Cowboy. You might want to read Color Purple, it is even better than the movie. They were great casting the characters, Whoopie was perfect. You might like Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistlestop Cafe. It is a great movie about two women.

The Colour Purple ~ very good and particularly moving
Ghost ~ good, it explains the work of mediums and makes folks think of what the afterlife is about
Grease ~ not bad, get's a bit boring though after the first thirty odd times seeing it
