My apologies. I misspelled a few words in there.

I'm a Brit and I have travelled all over the world both in business and pleasure and met people of every race, creed and colour and amongst them has been some really horrible bastards none of whom have been American maybe I have been lucky and just met the nice ones because undoubtedly they have their fair share of misfits as has every other place on earth. So to sum up and answer your question I like people from USA and Canada.
Possibly the people that answer your question negatively have never actually met an American and base their assumptions from watching TV.

It would be extremely racist to write off the whole country but I think the problem is there are so many ill educated americans that the image given is america is full of stupid people. I play online games and often play with americans and unfortunately the majority appear to be arrogant, stupid and incredibly racist! However, know and work with some americans who are great people and very intelligent.

personally i have no problem with Americans, or any other nationality for that matter. I think if you treat people with respect and show a genuine interest in their country then they will like you, and be glad to help you out. I am going to New York in October, and so i treat people how i would like to be treated. i doubt that you will get any hassle off people in the UK, and if you do it will only be from some idiot trying to look cool.
i hope you have a great time on your travels- you have great taste!

I don't have a problem with Americans, some of my friends are from over there, and they're all really cool :) It's the same as anywhere, there are nice people and there are some not so nice people, but just going on the fact that you asked this question, I'd put you in the nice people section :)

Was put off visiting the US for a long time by the reputation you guys have but, boy, am I glad I got over it! Had been led to believe all the hype about loud, obnoxious, arrogant people but this is nothing further from the truth. I find the enthusiasm, optimism & zest for life refreshing. I now visit as often as I can & would emigrate tomorrow. People who believe the bad press are simply small minded & don't deserve your concern.

There is alot of different views on american people, some good some not so good. But most people you meet over here should like (or hate) you for who you are and not where you come from. Have a good trip.

I have only met a handful of Americans and they come across like us Brits. Some are really nice, some are brash, some are arrogant. But, strangely, they all love our accents! What's that about?
