Plato's The Cave (check the net Platos Republic) short to the point then think how it applies to modern culture. Ayn Rand's Anthem, someone said it's on the web too, again short and to the point, have to give it another reread as I don't have the book any more.Kahlil Gibran wrote one about church and state got him in deep #### Spirits Rebellious.

Well, if you want to learn some chinese philosophy maybe you should read Sun Tzu's Art of War. It isn't to heavy to read and it makes a lot of metaphores about life in war and the values that a warrior must keep as a way of life. Sorry if I don't write correctly but that's because English isn't my mother languaje.
