nemraC - thanks - tell all your friends so I can get question of the week!

skippythefrog - it's either that or you're hallucinating!

Or - maybe it's because you're bored and you want to see if the food secretly is having a party in there and didn't invite you. ;-)

What if you are the mom in the house and you're also the only one who ever goes shopping? Then, the "because my mom goes shopping" doesn't apply.

Because there are little martians that mysteriously fill your fridge every 15 seconds. They like to conduct science experiments on your left overs that have been there for awhile.

when you first check you want something quick and specific and since you don't see it then you infer oh im not that hungry anyway. The second time you are hungrier, you are willing to comprimse and perhaps eat something other then what you really want and take time to prepare it.

Most people like to be served food, so the thought of making it makes them not want it as bad.

lmao. We think we will change our appetites aka lower our standard to eat something that may actually end up being in the fridge. But when we get there, the food in there is so bad that we dont want to eat it.
Does that make sense? Probably not.

I love that question. I started laughing when I read it,because I do that all the time. Maybe we keep hoping there's something in there, that we've over-looked,or forgot we had. (My solution?) I go to my daughter's house, and raid her fridge. There's always plenty of goodies at her house!

I don't know, but everyone does this. Maybe it's thinking that something you saw the first time will seem better the next time after checking other places for something you want more?

sometimes new food does appear! the other day, I opened the fridge and it was empty, but I went back about ten minutes later and there was a well-stocked fridge! this happens when other people in your house go to the grocery store without telling you!

Good question!! I think it's because when you get hungry enough, eventually something you overlooked the 1st time will look good to you!
