Absolutely not! This is the thinking from the middle ages. Why don't people ask this question about people with cancer or liver disease? This type of thinking actually makes life a lot worse for people with mental illness because it compounds their pain in knowing that society views them as being possessed. How cruel!

If that were the case then why would medication work so well for them? I think this is disrespectful to the plight of the mentally ill to be seen as equals to people with physical illnesses.

Psychopaths nonetheless have an know-how of morals and the term mentally ill would not propose that they are that different from you and me. once you're saying evil, do you mean intrinsically evil or that they do undesirable issues? via fact in case you mean that they do undesirable issues then we are all evil to an quantity and the question is invalid.

i read an article acoupla wks ago about mentally disturbed or severely depressed people as a last method of tryin 2 cure themselves they were hypnotised by a para normal expert an found that 85% of the people who went to this guy had some sort of spirit or presence inside them. after he had rid them of it by 'sending it into the light' they felt 100% cured there was an example of a guy who wanted a sex change one day and he didn't know why so as a last resort just before his op tried this then no longer wanted to become a woman as he was told he had the spirit of a young girl in him who wanted to make her self look prettier another was a guy who said he heard voices inside his head telling him to hurt himself and others after the hypnosis he was fine and allowed out of the asylum. i don't know if i believe this stuff myself but jus tellin you what i read!

Do you believe that people who have cancer are possessed by an evil spirit? Don't be so bloody daft. People who are mentally ill are just that...ill.

No! Mental illness equals disease. No point in blaming anything or anyone. Important though to get the best help available.

NO, because most mentally ill people are kind and gentle, an evil spirit would not be kind and gentle.

I wish it could be that easy. I have a family member who is mentally ill. His is caused by a chemical imbalance.

No. There is either a chemical imbalance in their systems or a problem with the transfer of information within their brains.

I believe that if they are not possessed by an evil spirit that they are tormented by an evil spirit.
