My nails are very brittle. I keep them at a good length but they always break at some point when they are not even under stress.

I have crap nails. I use a polish its clear called nail magic even walmart has it . That stuff is just what its called magic > and i take gelatin tablets in the vitamin section they help . You can also use a hand and nail lotion a small dot on each nail rub it in the nail and cuticle

Get a square-rounded style instead of round or oval shape. It has more support. Push your cuticle back while in shower, that will help the nail grow and nicer looking cuticle (less hang nails).
And take extra calcium.

keep them at a shorter length and use a nail strengthener or a cleat top coat of nail polish

This may sound strange if you are not pregnant, but it will not hurt you and it will also be good for your hair. Take prenatal vitamins. IT WORKS. also keep your nails painted with clear polish.
