There is no maximun length of time, as long as the child suckles and pulls on her breast the milk would produce. There are times when the milk do dry up, the child may be sucking on the breast, and no milk would be produced in this case your milk ducts have dried up. This may happen for several reasons, it may be because of your diet and exercises, the list goes on etc.. However when this happens there are several things to be done, see your doctor. If her milk is producing and the child is being filled, well all's well !!.

There are several factors that contribute to how long a woman can continue to produce breast milk. Volume and quality change over time in fluctuation with the woman's diet and hormones. Most healthy women can breastfeed for up to a year (some can breastfeed longer). And to clear one more detail up: you CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding. I see several women per day in my practice that have fallen prey to this myth. (My brother is living proof!)

As long as the baby feeds consistently. Are you talking about per feeding or for the duration of nursing? Your question isn't very clear. If you mean per feeding, the baby takes in most of the milk in the first 5 minutes for each breast. If you mean for the duration, most babies self-wean when they start walking around and it's easiest to switch them to a cup at about 12 to 14 months. Sounds like you're not liking having to share them, but get over it. The baby's nutrition is more important than your needs.

As long as her breasts are being stimulated by the baby. She is capable of lactating for years. It's up to her to choose when weaning is appropriate. The first two weeks of lactation contain the most beneficial nutrient colostrum that contributes to passive immunity to the baby against different diseases. Personally, on duration of breast feeding I believe a child should not remember the experience. lol. Have a great day.

As long as the child is nursing, your wife will continue to produce milk. Sucking stimulates milk production. It's a demand-supply system.

It's recommended to do this until the age of 6 months.

The production will go on as long there is regular demand - some known women have breast-fed their children until the age of 4 and above!

about a little over a year, but if he continues doing it every day and not slowing the baby down off drinking as much every day they she will keep producing but i dont know for how long but women are supposed to breats feed for 6 mon. and then slow down and mix food with the breast feeding, so your boobs will slow down on producing so much but when she stops feeding, whatever is left in there will stay in ther and youll never know, it will dry up.

As long as she is doing it, milk will be produced. Some woman at my local health dept and I find this to be a little creepy but breastfed her child until she was like 6 years old.

as long as her breasts are being emptied or drained she will continue to produce milk. The same principal is that of dairy cows. They are bred once to start lactating, then they are milked for many years nonstop
