Making friends on line is good, meeting them in real life is not so smart.

It depends--exercise precautions and make sure not to give any information that is too personal or any contact information that would enable them to get a hold of you (or any of your personal info) on their own terms. Use common sense and don't meet people in person unless you bring a friend with you and meet in a very crowded location.

For children: Not recommended, at all, ever.
For adults: It's better than having no friends at all. Having ONLY online friends is not as healthy or as fulfilling as making and having friends in real life.

BAD , if you find the bad ones
so improve on your judging skills , IF you can, or else just do not be too open to anyone.

It can be a good thing because there are many great stories of online acquaintances..but you have to use caution because its the Internet is easy place for someone to present themselves in a false way.

I really think it is up to the people in the situation. I wouldn't say that actually meeting them face to face is out of the question, but you must listen to the small voice in the back of your head. If it is saying not to do it, then don't do it.
