I'm not asking the obvious like, mohawks, piercings, etc. etc. But what makes the person punk, not "punk scene". Like, beliefs..what they do. Who they are.

there are many different beliefs but thats the point ok do whatever you want dress however act however and think whatever and do whatever and dont let anyone tell you that you cant thats what it means to be a punk ok..?? heres some examples some punks

Some Are Nazi's
Some Are Anarcists
Some Are Anti-Christs
Some Are Pot-Heads
Some Are Anti-Nazi and beat up Nazi punks
Some Are Gothic
Some Are Anti-Drug and beat up pot heads
Some Are Democrats
Some Are Republicans
Some Are Neither
Some Dress Normal
Some Dress Weird
Some Dress in shirts specially manufactured at hot topic for posers
Some Eat meat
some dont
some beat up people that dont eat meat
some skate
some have never set foot on a board
some like the crass
some say the crass ruined punk along with the dead kennedys

My stupid point is that being punk is about doing whatever whenever however and not about a certain belief except the strong belief that any law or rule that needs to be broken so we can do whatever whenever however we want, should be broken..

Punk is about a questioning attitude and a refusal to toe the line. Punk is (in theory) about thinking for yourself. The fact is that a businessman or a barefoot Mexican farmboy can be more "punk" than the mohawked Conflict t-shirt wearing kid at CBGB.

It's about how you think, not how you look.

a general disrespect for authority figures and the rules they try to inforce, many "punks" are anarchists, and/or are strongly in favor of the anarchist point of veiws. i suppose thats the basics

People who call themselves stereotyped names are unoriginal people who need a group to fit into so they feel like they're special.
