im no good at writing songs. some people have told me its like writing a poem but im no good at writing them either. i cant compare the things to my own life because my life is just too boring to write a song about so basically nothing ever happens. can you give me some starters off like a few lines or so?

It comes from the heart. You can be a good writer not using anything from your life, but it's just that much better when it's from stuff in your own life. A rhythm or a beat to vibe to helps.
For your case.
I need a man in my life,
with the monotony, it would make this feel so right,
in my heart put something,
because how it feels now is that basically what happens is nothing
I mean, you got to have a flare for it. If your not good at poetry, you won't be good with a song, so start with some simple rhymes. Just get 2 words and build on it. For example, I'm just going to pull two rhyming words out of nowhere right now. Love and above. Now, think about 2 lines that you could say that would have the first line ending in love, and the 2nd line end in above.

above
late at night I just think about **************love
with my man and we look to the stars*****above

I really don't listen to that type of music but I enjoy Sade, the importance of writing the ultimate song depends largely on what you wish to convey, loneliness, sorrow, joy, broken heart, finding love, having sex outside of a convent, so this should have been included, your question is a little vague, However speaking for myself I just want a song without a bunch of sex, is this all they can write about, firstly ask yourself what does love, real love mean to you? is it sex, closeness to a person, sacrifice for the other, if you want it to resonate to common people then write so they can relate to it, the more that agree with you the bigger the hit.

Try doing something else other than song writing.People dedicate their entire life to the art of writing music.

i admire your desire to write. But please save your creativity and write rock.
p.s. try writing about how boring your life is or somthing but make it real and make it your own. just write whatever comes to your mind and go back later and make it rhyme(but not all music has to ryme).If you or one of your friends plays guitar you can figure out the tune you want on one string and then make power chords(or if you are a master guitar player you can work with open chords and solos and all that fun stuff!)
remember, write from your heart!

then i add sentences like this
i was at the club chillin at the BAR
then i just happen to look over and see a STAR
i wanted to take him to my PLANENT
but i dont think he can handle IT
thats how i do it, i hope this work for u, good luck, i know u can do it

in order to help you i need some information on you and what you like to do and the song does not have to be about you it can be anything take Nelly who wrote a song about a cartoon
