How do I find the actual address associated with the visible e-mail address that appears in the cc: field. I replied all, to such an e-mail and one person on the cc:list never received my reply. Could that visible address of this person belong to someone else. Can a visible address contain non-printable characters so that it appears like the address of the known person. Appears to be something suspicious in what I encountered

Further to my last question, the CC; address in question was my own! When I replied all I did not get a copy. My concern in this case was that others who replied all did not send me a copy in spite of thinking they did

Assuming you sent an e-mail via reply all to a visible CC address, and did not receive an error reply back, the person who you sent the message to probably received it and is being disingenuous about getting it.

It is possible that person did not get the message, but it's unlikely.

Your conspiracy-theory question isn't worthy of a full answer. Suffice it to say, if the address got the original message, it should have gotten your reply, and probably did.

You can check the email header for all the information.
But keep in mind that the email address you see is
like the post address on letters. The sender can write
there anything, it doesn't have to be valid address, or
it can be someone else's address. Only the sender
server is sure.

They probably used Undisclosed Recipients in the "cc" field, to keep private all of the "cc" recipients.
