I am wondering which motorcycle is the most reliable?

the honda rebel, the gz250, the ninja 250, or the virage? or anything else in the $3000 price range?

thanks

If you are looking at straight reliability with nothing but the basic maintenece to perform then the Honda Rebel is the way to go, after that comes the Virago. The sportbikes, GZ250 and Ninja 250 while being good bikes, do require more maintenance than the other 2. All depends on what you are willing to pay for in the short term or the long haul and what your riding style is to start with. If you are a beginning rider I would strongly suggest the Rebel or Virago and rise them until you have a year or two under you before making the move to a bigger or faster bike. If you survive the first coupleof years on a slower underpowered bike then your chances for longevity on a bigger bike are much greater. Dont let peer group pressure get your butt killed just because you arent riding what you friends think you should be. I see it in the papers here every week, and inexperienced rider wadding it up in a turn or a guardrail, and dead because they were in over their head and couldnt pull back out of it. You will still do that with a smaller bike, but they are much more forgiving, and easier handling, and you'll have a better chance of surviving yor screwups while learning on a smaller lighter bike. Bets of luck to you.

Virago 250 . You will need to gear it up with a new output sprocket gear . One tooth Larger will get you on the Interstate so you can stay up with traffic .
P.S. My last bike was a BMW 900cc and my Virago 250 will go just as fast but I changed out the sprocket on the rear wheel as well (three teeth smaller than stock. This virago is extremely popular all over the world (pacific rim&aisia) where your other choices are not as plentyfuly found. This is handy when buying accesories.
