I am the PAM (Proud Army Mom) of a tanker in Germany. he and his buddies have been given orders to "Prepare To Deploy" to Ar Ramadi, Iraq, sometime in late August. I thank you on behalf of my son, and all those buddies of his, for your acknowledgement of what they are sacrificing, and why. Oh, and to the bible thumper before me... isn't it "PRIDE goeth before that fall"? The way I look at it, We're all gonna fall in the end for some reason or another, so why not go down, being proud of your own country? I'm PROUD of all 3 of my sons, and make no bones about it. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Yes, we should be proud of America. It is still the best place to live. If you think it is really awful, then you should either work to make changes or leave. No one is keeping you here. For the things that some people are complaining about, not everyone agrees they are a problem.
It is always easy to make a decision in hindsight or without all the information.
As an "Air Force Brat", I appreciate the sacrifice all veterans have made for this country- even for the people who constantly bad-mouth them and this country.

You don't have to be proud to be American, with all the mistakes done by your leaders by example. I am proud to be European for the same reasons (about the people that make this European Union great). So you aren't the only one country that have a great people. When you're proud, it's when you have something that others don't have.

This is the greatest country on earth and all of its citizens should be HONORED to say they are proud to be American. What these complainers don't realize is that the reason they can complain in the first place is because this great nation allows it. Some govt's don't allow their citizens that right. So I say GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THE PEOPLE IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Twins!!!

if America wasn't the biggest consumer of cocaine in the world, and if so many people weren't on drugs, and if somebody made at least a small effort to do something about this, then probably I'd be a little prouder.
its the people that make the country great? Are drug addicts included in "the people"? cause if they are, then no wonder nobody tries to minimize the drug abuse rate in America. see, half of the American population wanna legalize marijuana. or maybe more than half.
