Just wondering if lesbians are really gay because they are not turned on by a penis, or f they have just chosen to be with women?

Wow, are you out of touch! No offense, but you posed an either/or type question, where neither answer is true.
Lesbians, like gay men, are that way because they were born that way. It is not a choice. But do they still fantasize about dick? Not really. It is more likely that they fantasize something about other women. That is what makes them lesbian.

Homosexuality is not a choice or a decision, it is who a person is. Most lesbians I know are FAR from interested in anyone's penis. It's not about body parts... it's about who they are.

Well, people are homosexual because of something to do with their brain and hormone balance... so pretty much it's not a choice, it's how they're born.
If, however, some chick is "lesbian" because it is "cool", then that's a different story.
