Um... well the best place I know where you can download songs for free is www.rhapsody.com that site should be free I am not quite sure i haven't downloading any songs so far so... you're welcome (for the anwser) and I hope you find a good anwser!

Most illegal download sites are crawling with viruses. Please support your favorite artists and get music legally (your computer will thank you for it).

Also, on filesharing systems the quality of each song is oftentimes usually compromised because it's copied or shared (Notice that sometimes a song skips, is corrupted, etc.). What's worse, you can get nasty computer viruses and spyware from these shared files!
There are legal ways of getting music that don't cost a lot either. I subscribe to Yahoo Music Unlimited and it's awesome (it only costs about $5/month)! I have access to probably a million legal, great quality music. Check that out, along with the website above.
Personally, I like to support the artists that I like so that they can further their career. I wouldn't want to steal their music that they've put time and effort into.

Don't go to Frostwire...
The music comes out sounding like it is playing thru a tin can.
A lot of the song files are not songs at all, but pop-ups to cheezy ad sites.
Had it for about 2 hours and got rid of it.

I use limewire and it is good, absolutley free and no incoming viruses because you are just sharing music with other people accross the internet.

limewire, if u want to do some p2p sharing. make sure you have a firewall and anit-virus software before you begin download. i also suggest peer guardian 2. never surf without a firewall and AV programs.

As for the virii, if you're getting them I'd suggested you equip yourself with some decent AV software (Avast is even free!) There's no excuse for getting a virus, it's sheer stupidity.

just about anywhere you can get viruses but i use limewire but yeah peer to peer sharing you can always count on running into viruses
