I do with a passion. Every time I'm driving and I hear it coming from another car, it just irritates me. I think the majority of people like rap music because it was proclaimed 'cool'. What else could it be? The lyrics mean absolutely nothing, the 'artists' ( and I say that loosely) talk about nothing but violence, drugs, and sex, and it just doesn't strike a chord with me. I want to hear music that makes me listen to the message, that makes me remember things, that takes root deep in my soul. Rap does none of that-the only thing it does is give me a headache.

I don't know any one who ahtes rap music.

But, if you meant HATE, as in its something that you hate... then maybe you should spend your time on something that you actually like, rather than having to get approval from people on the internet.
If everyone under the sun said that they hate rap music, would that improve your life at all? Help you sleep a little better at night? I seriously doubt it.


and to all of the narrowminded people answering questions about something they know absolutely nothing about....
not all rap music talks about drugs, women, gangs, etc. so, lets try to stop pulling that stereotype out of our a$$ every time someone asks a question about rap music.
what you hear on the radio or see on TV only represents a small fraction of artists out there. there are A LOT of artists who represent positive things. Or who at least do not promote all of the negativity you see in music today. Unfortunately a lot of those artists are more underground because people would rather hear a song talking about women shaking their a$$es. And trust me... if it was only black people that liked the music, you wouldn't hear it everywhere as you do now.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally I think Rock and Country music SUCKS. But, I don't feel the need to down it because that is not my personal preference. Thats why there is so many genres of music out there. Everyone is not supposed to like the same things. But damn... at least know what you are talking about before you start talking sh*t. It seems like people really have this despise for rap music. I don't understand that.

I can't stand most mainstream rap, but I love underground hip hop.

Interestingly enough, I find that most people who say they hate rap (or hip hop music) don't know as much about it as they think they do (i.e. - the difference between an MC and a rapper...and yes, there is a difference). Most of them base their opinions on that rap that the mainstream media force feeds us. I'm hear to tell you that not all rap is about drugs, money, bling, sex and guns, and not all rap is riddled with profanity. There's still some good, quality hip hop out there for those that bother to look for it, but you definitely won't find it in the mainstream.

can not really say I hate it...I am not a big fan though....

actually I can tolerate anything but country/western...that makes me queasy...all the "tear in my beer" and "my dog ran away" lyrics make me sick.

At least rap is semi-constructive. Most of them are pissed off...and talking about booty...but it is better then balling about their woman and being alone and being the last cowboy.

i can listen to it everyone once in awhile. like when i'm out to a club or something. but i can't go and listen to it on a regular basis. but unless the mood strikes me then i'll play a song. i'd rather listen to country music or classic rock.

its okay,some songs get o my nerves but i dont listen to it all twenty four seven and be like yo homie dog whats up fo shizzle ...thats just plain annoying but yeah its okay i listen to like 2 rap songs and i mostly listen to punk,emo,classic rock
