Wish I knew whether you are asking about fastball or slo-pitch. In either case, it depends on a couple of things, your stepping into the ball at the right time with the right swing. And practice proper hitting stances that allow the transfer of hips and legs through the ball. If you can watch a clip of Albert Pujohls of the St. Louis Cardinals. Watch his weight being shifted and follow the ball all the way to the bat.

If it is slow pitch, start with the bat high and do an uppercut swing on the ball. Since the ball is sinking down your bat hitting under the ball like that can really give it some distance. This has always worked for me, try it out.

I have seen how well womens softball pitches can be thrown. Honestly I don't know how you could get more distance other than try changing your stance up a bit. You know maybe move in closer, or hold the bat higher or lower. Don't swing with just your arms. Lift your lead leg up before you swing and get your body into it. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

You have to do a lot of situps, work on your mid-section. Some pushups, swing through the ball, in other words, most people let up on their swing when the bat makes contact. Swinging the bat through the ball increases bat speed.

Use your legs and transfer the weight from your legs to the bat, also line your knuckles up on the bat.The rest is hand eye coordination.
